Zero Motorcycles, the world leader in all-electric motorcycles and powertrains, will marry one of the craziest motorcycle races of 2020, the “Midnight Mile” on Malle Mile this month.
The Malle Mile is a gloriously eccentric ‘inappropriate race and moving exhibition’ set in the park of a 17th-century mansion, and electric ones will have their own spectacle in the impressive un backed-up ‘Midnight Mile’.
While the Malle Mile is an event in which “everything is allowed,” Zero found himself “forbidden” (courteously, of course) competing against his gasoline rivals in last year’s board races, such as the 190 Nm instant pair of the Zero SR/F roadster. (with nailed off-road tires, of course) gave him unfair merit on the 1/8 mile acceleration track at Hall Park.
Midnight Mile is exclusively for electric motorcycles. As the call suggests, the sprints take position in the canopy of darkness, but as opposed to the backdrop of an impressive soft and sonic spectacle. At Midnight Mile, competitors are encouraged to wear costumes and driving gear, and to complete their “inappropriate” motorcycles more delicately.
“The Malle Mile is an exclusive occasion and we’re thrilled to be worried,” said Dale Robinson, National Director of Zero Motorcycles UK. “It’s a fun and quirky race, and a wonderful position to show off Zero’s logo and products. Last year, one of our dealers, English Electric Motorcycle Company, put off-road tires in his SR/F and entered next to the gas bikes. but it was so fast that he was asked to leave the competition. When we had a chance to worry more this year, we just couldn’t say no!
In addition to the race, the Malle Mile presents Motopolo, literally motorcycle polo shirts, luxury camps, traditional motorcycle exhibits and motorcycle-themed art and photography exhibits. There will also be “The Metropolis” where Zero will exhibit some models from its 2020 range.
