Work resumes on MSG Sphere on Strip, company says

Construction resumed at MSG Sphere on the Las Vegas Strip.

Madison Square Garden Co. made the announcement at a call for a quarterly effects convention on Friday.

The company announced in March that paintings at the 17,500-seat entertainment venue had stopped. The unemployment of paintings attributed to the “widespread global effects” caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Once scheduled to open in 2021, the company now says the assignment will end in 2023.

“We remain committed to bringing this location to Las Vegas, but given the effect of the pandemic on our business, we will continue at a more measured pace,” Andy Lustgarten, president of MSG Entertainment, said in a report.

The lower working speed, the corporate said Friday, will allow it to “better maintain its liquidity in the short term”, as it continues to face the demanding situations posed by the pandemic.

The structure site, adjacent to the Venetian, is on 18 acres on Sands Avenue between Manhattan Street and Koval Lane.
