KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Clemson women’s golf returns to the course Sunday, opening play for the 2023 Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, hosted through the University of Tennessee. This year’s tournament is played at Cherokee Country Club for 5,965 yards, par 71.
Ole Miss has Golfweek’s highest rating of any attractive team at No. 8, followed by the Tigers at No. 10. Pepperdine ranks 26th, Maryland 39th and Louisville 46th to round out the field. UCF, Maryland, NC State, Kent State, Chattanooga, ETSU, Wisconsin, Kansas State, Kansas and tournament hosts Tennessee all sign up for those five teams.
Chloe Holder holds the Tigers’ top spot heading into the weekend after a 10-point finish at Blessings Collegiate. Sydney Roberts, who finished 12th in Blessings, Isabella Rawl, Annabelle Pancake and Melena Barrientos round out the Tigers’ roster. Barrientos makes his first appearance for Tigres this season. Katherine Schuster will also participate individually.
The Tigers will be senior Savannah Grewal as she competes in Phase II of the LPGA Q-School.
Clemson will strike the first blow Sunday morning for the first round at 9:30 a. m. m. and will be paid along with Ole Miss and Tennessee. Schuster will strike the first blow at 11:25 a. m.
