EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A woman arrested in connection with a crash and escape on Tuesday night that caused serious injuries to a moped.
The turn of fate happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Linwood Avenue.
Police arrived to locate Darrin Ditzer, 35, with serious leg injuries. According to an Evansville Police Department arrest record, the man was missing his right knee and the bones protruded from his skin.
Ditzer then told police that he hit a gray Toyota, whose driving force stopped his car and was taken out of the vehicle to keep an eye on him before fleeing.

Suspect vehicle agents, a Toyota Corolla, in the 1700 block of South Morton Avenue. The front and windshield of the sedan were damaged.
Jeanetta McKinnon, 55, allegedly admitted to police driving the car when he hit Ditzer. She said she didn’t see him until too long had passed and she was sorry.
McKinnon added that he had had three beers before driving. His blood was drawn from a local hospital before being imprisoned in the Vanderburgh County Jail at around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
She faces a preliminary charge of leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury. As of late Wednesday morning, she was being held without bond, pending a probable cause hearing in the afternoon.
