Nothing to oppose Asher Wojciechowski, who chose to start today for the Orioles to close the series in DC, but confirmation that he would get the project bothered a fan base who is eager to see Keegan Akin’s deyet in the primary leagues.
The Orioles called Akin from the camp chosen to Bowie and the jump to conclusions looked like an Olympic event.
They needed a headline with John Means off the team. A bullpen game was an unwanted option. Akin was called to his prestige as the maximum candidate likely to triumph first in the majors.
There’s an old saying that if you keep paying attention to the fans, you’ll sit with them, this is more complicated to do with the access restrictions. But the point is valid.
