Fiat and the Wirex cryptographic payment platform announced Wednesday that they have partnered with Railsbank to update Wirecard, which faces insolvency, as a card provider for the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the announcement on the company’s website, consumers with existing Wirex cards have already been migrated to Railsbank cards and there will be no interruptions at Wirex’s payment facilities during the transition.
The company’s former card provider, Wirecard, faces insolvency proceedings after a $2.1 billion gap was discovered in its previous balance sheet this year.
According to a recent report through the Local German media, one of The Wirecard leaders sought in connection with the fraud, Jan Marsalek, has appeared in western Moscow and is housed through Russia’s largest secret service, the army-controlled GRU.
