Ferrari is known for making super-fast cars and, more recently, SUVs, but we associate the prancing horse with land activities. However, the Italian automaker could soon expand into the maritime realm, if a new breakthrough is to be believed.
The Italian brand’s Instagram page was flooded with images showing bubbling water and posted a short video featuring what appears to be the blade of a hydrofoil. All of this suggests that the brand’s logo could soon become a seahorse.
If that turns out to be the case, Ferrari would be anything but the first automaker to attach its name to a yacht. A quick look through our archive reveals that Bentley, Porsche, Lamborghini, and Mercedes-AMG branding (to name just a few examples) have all been applied to boats. Polestar technology has even gone into a hydrofoil.
It also marks Ferrari’s first maritime adventure. In the 1950s, Enzo Ferrari provided Achille Castoldi with the 4. 5-litre V12 for his racing team’s F1 car. The engine found its way to a ship that set a record of 150. 49 mph (242. 19 km/h). ) on Lake Iseo in Italy.
Later, in the 90s, a limited series of Riva Ferrari 32 speedboats was created through Italian companies. As Top Gear publishes, the two remain official partners to this day, suggesting that Riva could be involved in this project.

According to the teaser video, it’s possible that the corporations are simply sailing on a hydrofoil. This type of vessel uses underwater wings to lift the hull off the surface, particularly reducing hydrodynamic drag.
This would be the best time for Ferrari to unveil a new yacht. The automaker has been working to revamp its brand arm so that its logo is implemented more carefully and only on luxury products.
