From LDN Lab to festival stages, the song composed by Cristóbal Tapia de Veer has an unlikely hit club
The theme of HBO’s dark comedy-drama The White Lotus has a staple on the dance floor.
The song “Renacimiento” written by Emmy Award-winning composer Cristóbal Tapia de Veer, who also created the name of the first season “¡Aloha!”.
Starting with a melodic harp and operatic vocals, the melody transforms into a yodel remix that falls for a minute with a mischievous drum beat.

Since its release, the song has invaded social media, especially TikTok as DJ sets around the world.
French gourmet mixer Teki Latex, who opened his set at Lab LDN with the track earlier this month before releasing it on canvas, tweeted: “Part of the DJ’s duty is to incorporate into his set the popular songs that are applicable to culture right now. “. Right now, that’s the opening theme of White Lotus season 2. I don’t make the rules. “
Earlier this month, the Meredith Music Festival in Victoria, Australia, was just one of many venues where the song was played with a Jennifer Coolidge sign seen around the event.
Singer and Euphoria star Dominic Fike also released the song at the end of his New York performance with The Killers also doing the same on their tour.
“It’s unexpected,” Veer’s Cristobal Tapia told Buzzfeed of the song’s viral success.
“Unlike generating things for a band or my own record, that’s never the goal of an exhibition. It’s about serving the exhibition and not really thinking about an independent success or a singleness or anything like that. So that’s kind of a cherry on top. “
