White Lotus has begun recruiting its next series of rich fools, who will travel to Thailand for season 3 of Mike White’s hit HBO series. Although White Lotus’ respected guest, Jennifer Coolidge, may not be returning as Tanya, dead and all, its season 1. Co-star Natasha Rothwell (who played Belinda) was the first actress to sign up for the third installment.
Rothwell will be joined in Season 3 via Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey and Tayme Thapthimthong, HBO announced today. This list largely mirrors the one published via Deuxmoi on Thursday; the unnamed gossip account also had other people like Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Woody Harrelson, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sam Nivola, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Aimee Lou Wood on its list.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves—this roster is pretty solid. Although HBO has revealed no clues of the chaotic plot to come, we can make a few predictions based on these names alone. Will Posey and Monaghan, who look somewhat alike, play sisters out to one-up each other? Maybe Isaacs and Bibb will have a connection—married, siblings, enemies, who knows!
Staff-wise, it’s confusing to see Belinda back at The White Lotus hotel chain, but now in Thailand instead of Hawaii. Either he transferred to a new position or he randomly made money from Tanya’s will to allow him to travel. Hetrakul and Thapthimthong are Thai actors, so they can be hired in White Lotus or they can be just locals like Lucia (Simona Tabasco) and Mia (Beatrice Grannó) from Season 2.
Production on The White Lotus season 3 will begin on Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok in February. While it may seem like the show’s launch is just around the corner, HBO CEO Casey Bloys announced last year that the series “Probably” won’t return until 2025. Wait until then to book a trip to Thailand – your dream vacation is about to be ruined due to nightmarish characters roaming the country.
