Since the original story was published, dozens of others have sent an email expressing their own frustrations when receiving applications after parking there.

She appealed the fees, but the company downplayed her, the device didn’t work and Mary doesn’t have a phone to use the other payment methods.
She said: “The other people who run the car park have a duty of motorsport and diligence to update the device in order to provide the service they are meant to provide.
“Surely it’s disgusting what they’re doing, it’s a lot owned by the town hall, but now they’ve sold it and the new owners don’t care.
“Something has to be done, they can’t stay doing it. Pensioners use this car park and if they earn only 60 euros a week for a fundamental pension, the corporate takes a whole week.
“It’s not a wealthy city, so there will be many other seniors who don’t have a smartphone or cell phone to pay using those strategies and they’ll be fined anyway, and they’ll see the letter and pay for it. fear.
“Even if you have a phone, many other older people use smartphones more slowly, so while you download the app, find out where to pay and check to pay for it, it may only take 10 to 15 minutes and they will already have a parking fee, whether it’s a success or not.
“All we have to do is confront them as an organization and tell them “take us to court,” and they’re going to back off. There’s going to have to be a lot of other people affected and they can’t do it in all of us.

Cathy Slater won two notices after parking there in July and the idea that a photo of the device that appeared that was not running would mean that her load would be called, but successful.

“I have sent a call to POPLA, which is an independent body, and I am waiting for your answer. I hope you can do about it.”
Mary believes that current car park owners will have a negative effect on shopping in downtown Grimsby as the site is well located and convenient compared to other nearby car parks.
She said: “I enjoyed using this car parking lot because it’s right next to the city center and it’s not as narrow as others around the corner. I have a big car and I don’t feel comfortable browsing some of the narrowest places.
“Car parks on Garden Street and Duchess Street are well located, but walking is longer and can be a challenge for the elderly.
“I think we want to deal with society all this. We’ll have to fight them and take them down.
“We create an action group, so that we can engage as many other fined people as possible.”
Another user who has struggled with the company is Beatrix Buckingham, a 77-year-old disabled woman who in the past had parked on the site with a blue badge for five years before being fined twice.

“There were no notices that parking restrictions had been changed. We asked Highview Parking to let us know when parking restrictions had changed, never responded.
“All we keep getting are threats and the amount of the fine continues to increase.
“We have taken the recommendation and are be asked not to match/respond and that Highview or its agents cannot threaten us or our property, if we are brought to justice, our adviser will fight the case for us. This does not mean that it is not at all a primary fear and is not at all intelligent for my health ».
MoneySavingExpert’s recommendation, founded through Martin Lewis, says he does not automatically pay “fines” for personal car parks that he believes to be unfair.
Although they are called past fines, they are “parking payment notices” and are different from the “penalty notices” that local councils can give you.
