The Webster County Board of Supervisors will rezone some homes in the southeast end of the county on Tuesday.
The council voted unanimously to approve on first reading a measure to move approximately 39 acres from one agricultural designation to another. The assets are about two miles east of the intersection of 340th Street and Vasse Avenue, according to Jeff Johnson, the county’s planner and zoner. administrator.
The owner, Michael Gentosi of Urbandale, plans to build a cabin on the property.
The substitution will need to be approved once it comes back into force.
The council also approved certain purchases of devices for the 911 dispatch center.
A new intercom formula was purchased from Fort Dodge’s Iowa Fire Control for $18,905. Brian Hitchcock, director of telecommunications for the sheriff’s office, said the new formula will update old devices from the 1980s.
Four 55-inch video monitors went to the Iowa Fire Control dispatch center for $5,200. They will be used to monitor security cameras at the Law Enforcement Center, the courthouse and downtown Fort Dodge.
Additionally, Perry’s Unplugged Wireless Communications contracted to unplug and remove unused devices from the dispatch center’s server room, for a fee of $1,500. This company already has a contract to install new consoles and devices in the center.
