Here’s a look at what’s new or new in the non-public video. Unless otherwise noted, videos and TV screens must be on streaming sites such as iTunes, Amazon, and Vudu.
New: Blue-ray reissue
“The Quest”: Name the film in which a young Henry Thomas takes an epic motorcycle trip, meets the government and encounters a mysterious being. “E.T.” of course, but also this much less well-known but attractive Australian film of the family circle made a few years later. Thomas is Cody, a mini MacGyver with a number of daredevils. The orphaned American teenager lives with his guardian in a small Australian town, where he spends a summer researching an underwater creature that would possibly be similar to the Aboriginal myth.
The film originally titled “Frog Dreaming”. And caution: the depiction of the 1986 film of Aboriginal, undenigrated characters is now outdated and simplistic.
Blu-ray Kino Lorber, now on sale.
