WATCH: Las Vegas Raiders take part in first practice at Allegiant Stadium

The Las Vegas Raiders were scheduled to open their inaugural season in the desert city with 65,000 silver and black enthusiasts on September 12 as opposed to the Saints of New Orleans.

Unfortunately, that won’t be the case. The $1.84 billion will be empty due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even then, the Raiders were thrilled to participate Friday in their first practice to the right of the Las Vegas Strip.

This would possibly not make up for the cancelled pre-season or lack of enthusiasts in the first week, but it’s still pretty good.

As you can see, Derek Carr took his team to the box in the new site. For a while last spring, there was no guarantee that the three-time Pro Bowler would enroll in his former Oakland Raiders team in his new city.

And while there might be a quarterback festival in preparation for Sin City, it still turns out to be the face of the franchise.

The Raiders’ move to Las Vegas has become official this year. Since then, the team has experienced a backhand after another. Initially, the 2020 NFL Draft was scheduled to be held in Las Vegas to allow the league to receive the Raiders in their new city. Obviously, this has never happened.

Add the latest fan attendance data for next season, and it’s amplified even more.

At least the Raiders have this position that belongs to them. It’s very different from the Oakland Coliseum in Northern California. That’s for sure.
