But if you want to go electric and are in love with the Tesla X, or can’t stand the $120,000 worth (which recently dropped to $80,000), there wasn’t much of a choice, until now. 2024 is the year in which the market reaches a milestone with a number of options, from the cheapest (in a way) to the ultra-luxury.
Here is what is available now or in the near future in the electric three-row car category.
For adventurers who need to bring their gang, the Rivian R1S is designed to move slowly over rocks, sand dunes, and streams. It is so successful that it won first position in the 2023 Rebelle Rally.
With all-wheel drive and up to 400 miles of diversity, the Rivian R1S gives owners the diversity to embark on the adventure, and then has a cargo network available at national parks and other popular outdoor destinations so you can refuel once you arrive. . .
Although the R1S is popular with 3 rows, the extra area can be better utilized for loading; The third row is best suited for small and medium passengers, has 33 inches of legroom, and the middle row seats move forward or backward to accommodate taller passengers. Prices start from $78,000.
Just making its debut, this three-row family SUV has a spacious size with a giant third row and movable middle-row seats so everyone has legroom. But for those who need even more comfort, the seats in the front and middle rows can be outfitted with “relaxing” seats with extendable leg rests.
With a futuristic look and feel, the Kia EV9 features the brand’s most complex technology, adding the newly redesigned infotainment system, true one-pedal driving, a range of around 280 miles and a fast charging infrastructure that It will drain the battery from 10% to 80% in 25 minutes with a DC fast charger.
The EV9’s pricing is clever, too. It starts at about $55,000 and tops out under $80,000, the limit for federal tax incentives, which it will qualify for later this year when production starts at Kia’s West Point, Georgia plant. Kia cleverly kept the price below $80,000 by offering buyers a menu of add-on features available after purchase; these include streaming music, a power boost that increases torque, remote parking and the ability to customize the EV9’s headlight design.
The Mercedes-Benz EQB three-row SUV
This is the hidden gem in the electric three-row SUV world. The Mercedes-Benz EQB is compact, affordable and everything we love about the brand, design driven interior featuring a flat screen multimedia system, a comfortable interior and turbine-style air vents. It comes in a two-row or three-row configuration; third row seating is a $1,250 option and center row captains chairs are not available, though center seats move to allow for everyone to get comfortable.
With a variety of 245 miles, a starting price of $52,750, and front- or all-wheel-drive options, buyers can configure this fun and capable little SUV to suit their needs. And that’s all Mercedes-Benz: luxurious, fast and agile. We particularly like the voice-activated MBUX infotainment formula; just say “Hello Mercedes” and the formula will cover (almost) all your needs.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV
This is the ultimate luxury SUV and some might say the opposite of “quiet luxury” – the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV comes with generation and design, some of which are the most complex and futuristic in the industry. From the dash-spanning display that includes a passenger’s screen for video streaming or navigation, to the stunning ambient lighting that pulses to music or flashes to indicate an upcoming navigation turn, to truly augmented camera perspectives superimposed on satellite imagery on the navigation display, Mercedes-Benz has a clue and it’s included.
With more than three hundred miles of diversity and a choice of all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive, the EQS SUV, which starts at $125,000, is rarely a very large SUV. The third optional line reflects this; It can be considered more convenient than a seat for everyday use. Like the EQB, the middle row is a bench seat and captain’s seats are not available, so to get to the third row, passengers have to go past the middle seat to sit down. Once there, though, like everyone else in this sumptuous SUV, feel pampered.

We’ve got a glimpse of Volvo’s new design language in the EX30 and it’s quite exciting: a giant screen handles maximum of the car’s functions, the upholstery and surfaces are made from renewable and recycled materials, and a new multimedia formula is handled via Google, including voice-activated “Hey Google” assistance.
From there, however, the Volvo EX90 replaces the hugely popular XC90, with six or seven seats, a generously sized third row and a sleek cabin in calm colours, a panoramic sunroof and amenities in each and every seat.
With a starting value of around $76,000, probably the biggest advantage is the “luxury” of the powertrain: Volvo has consistently made its electric cars tougher and more diverse than its competitors, and the EX90 is expected to do the same: It’s estimated to have more. It has a 350-mile run and delivers 402 horsepower. When it hits dealerships in mid-2024, it’s going to be fun.
The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ
In this electric SUV, the luxury lies in all the fun and innovation it promises. The parent company, GM, is committed to innovation in everything those cars can do, from festival-beating batteries to cutting-edge features and amenities. Many of them have been noticed in the Hummer EV: wheels that can roll at an angle (Hummer calls this crab walking), an acceleration mode that generates a lot of torque from the EV to the front so that it takes off like a bullet, and hands-free Super Cruise highway driving system.
Expect the Cadillac Escalade IQ to feature those things and then some: a spacious 3rd row, evolved front and rear seat technology and entertainment, all the plush comforts Cadillac’s interiors are known for and an even longer driving range of up to 450 miles. And expect top-notch luxury to have a commensurate price: It’ll start at $130,000.

We haven’t spent time with the Hyundai Ioniq 7 yet, but we expect it to offer much of what the Kia EV9 offers: fast charging, a three-hundred-plus mile range and a flexible, cutting-edge interior, plenty of headroom and headroom. legs and the ‘Pixel’ that are iconic of the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6.
Hyundai has said it’ll make its marketplace debut in 2024 and auto spies have seen it on the road testing, so it should be in the market soon. Pricing is expected to start at about $55,000.

We got a quick look at the Gravity when it debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show; the design in the demo showcased stunning interior and garage space, thanks to Lucid’s premium fabrics and cutting-edge technology. As the company moves closer to production, it will upload the demo styles to its point of sale so buyers can sit in seats and try out the technology. . The value will start at around $80,000.
2025 Volkswagen ID Buzz
While it’s not an SUV, it’s perhaps the most iconic EV on the market in years and is sure to make a splash. Buyers have been waiting for VW to announce the return of this beloved old-fashioned one.
The long-wheelbase 2025 VW ID Buzz model, as the three-row edition is known, is packed with fun design details, a giant open space, and one of the most gigantic third rows seen; Even your tallest friends will agree. And there’s a large giant shipping domain with a flexible shelf to make room for even more space.
