In a double world premiere, Volkswagen unveiled the new ID. 3 GTX and ID. 7 GTX Tourer while expanding its diversity of electric sports vehicles.
Volkswagen showed off earlier this week that a new sporty ID. 3 GTX would be coming after posting a sneak peek on its social media channels.
Volkswagen only introduced the new electric hatch, but also brought the ID. 7 GTX Tourer, the toughest VW family vehicle of all time.
The new electric vehicles feature a sporty design, smooth front and rear signatures, more features and more power. VW is expanding its GTX logo following its success. In Europe, one in five ID. 4 and ID. 5 is already a GTX model.
VW will launch the rear-wheel-drive electric hot hatch in two versions. The range-topping ID. 3 GTX Performance is supplied with VW’s toughest electric motor to date, with up to 322 hp.
The base ID. 3 GTX gets the same 282 hp as the 2024 Volkswagen ID. 4 RWD. Other than that, there are a lot of differences to be aware of between the two models.
VW’s GTX Performance gets a new 79 kWh battery, compared to the previous top-rated 77 kWh ID. 3 model. The extra power unlocks up to 373 miles of diversity and acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 5. 6 seconds.
The sporty electric vehicle stands out through GTX-specific front bumpers, a black air intake, new lighting fixtures that work with hours of sunlight, and 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels.
Inside, the Volkswagen ID. 3 GTX features premium sport seats, red stitching, and a cabin surface. The Performance style comes with DCC Adaptive Chassis Control.
Following the launch of pre-sales of the ID. 7 Tourer last week, Volkswagen has unveiled the new GTX version.
“The ID. 7 GTX Tourer paves the way for a new type of sporty mobility by combining the space of a giant estate with the functionality of a sports car,” said Kai Grunitz, Head of Technical Development at VW.
As VW’s toughest pickup truck, the ID. 7 GTX Tourer packs a dual-motor all-wheel-drive formula with up to 335 hp.
While functionality specs are yet to be revealed, the GTX will easily outperform the current ID. 7 with a 0-60 mph time of 6. 3 seconds.
Powered by an 88 kWh battery, the largest for a MEB-based model, VW is aiming for a range of around 600 kilometers.
GTX styling is exclusive to other ID. 7 styles, with a special honeycomb grille and glossy GTX-specific graphics with illuminated badges.
Inside, the SUV features GTX lettering on the backrests, red stitching on the seats, dashboard, door trim and wheels. GTX styling retains the spacious interior of the RWD variants with a boot capacity of up to 1,714 L.
Pricing for the new ID. 3 GTX and ID. 7 GTX Tourer is yet to be revealed. Volkswagen has announced that the new electric sports cars will be unveiled soon, so check back for the final details.
