World premiere of the new Golf Variant: the compact truck is now even more spacious, dynamic and virtual than ever. The greater amount of available area, the full popular purposes and the new types of propulsion with mild hybrid generation and dual measurement are pioneering features. The new Golf Alltrack as an all-wheel drive Golf Variant with SUV genes also makes its debut. In Germany, the pre-sale of the Golf Variant will start tomorrow, September 10, while in other European countries it will follow.

The newer generation inspires through its beautifully designed and, with the most complex cabin in its segment, it takes a giant step towards digitization. Plus, you get top marks with effective drives, maximum protection, and much more area – the best family car circle. And sports enthusiasts will love the new Golf Alltrack02. As a cross between the Golf Variant and an SUV, it offers the best combination of area, innovation and fun even on paved roads thanks to its all-wheel drive.
Attractive exterior of the vehicle. Compared to its predecessor, the external design of the new Golf Variant 01 is sharper and more dynamic. The front obviously shows its close dating to the new Golf. Further back, the Variant shows its typical uniqueness with a flatter roof segment towards the rear, as well as a sloping, coupe-like rear window. The new generation is 4,633mm long and now has a 2,686mm wheelbase (respectively, a 66mm increase over its predecessor). This increased durability reorganizes the proportions and gives the Golf Variant a more elongated and flat appearance. The headgear and soft rear gear still feature LED technology.
Spacious vehicle interior. The accumulation of external durability and wheelbase benefits the interior of the Golf Variant. Five passengers can be accommodated comfortably in the new Golf Variant as the additional length of the wheelbase is used almost entirely for the interior. Interior life increased from 48mm to 1798mm. As legroom is also increased by 48mm, the additional area has a noticeable positive effect, especially at the rear. Passengers can purchase their luggage in a generously sized boot: loaded to the top edge of the rear seat back, it offers 611 liters of garage area (6 liters more compared to the Golf Variant 7). With the vehicle loaded up to the roof with built-in netting for the luggage compartment and front seat backs, the volume rises to 1,642 liters (an accumulation of 22 liters). If either hand is busy holding food or luggage, the optional power rear boot lid can also be opened with the sensor-controlled boot opener, using a foot gesture in front of the Golf Variant’s rear bumper.
New transmission systems offer natural efficiency. Take, for example, the eTSI with 48V generation and 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox: a 48V belt-driven starter alternator, a 48V lithium-ion battery and the TSI engine merge to shape a new system. ‘mild hybrid drive. The benefits of the new eTSI come with a particular decrease in fuel consumption, as the Golf Variant cuts off the turbocharged direct injection petrol engine as long as it can be driven without generating local emissions. For this reason, all eTSI engines have been equipped with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox (7-speed DSG). Without DSG, the seamless transition between freewheel phase and TSI drive would not be imaginable. In addition, the 7-speed DSG shifts gears very economically, so it also conserves power. There are also innovative TDI engines for the Golf Variant: in this case, the so-called double dosing – double AdBlue® injection with two SCR (selective catalytic reduction) catalytic converters – especially reduces carbon dioxide emissions. Nitrogen (NOx) to be available soon. TDI engines are among the cleanest and most efficient diesel engines in the world.
New lines of popular appliances and extensive features. Volkswagen has reconfigured the array of devices for the Golf Variant: at the heart of the fundamental edition of the “Golf” will now be the “Life”, “Style” and “R-Line” device lines. The popular early features of the basic style already come with the Lane Assist lane departure caution formula, the front helps with the city emergency braking formula and pedestrian monitoring, the new vehicle braking serves as in steering Opposite cornering, XDS electronic differential lock, Car2X traffic hazard caution, keyless comfort, keyless start formula and automatic lighting control. Vehicle interior remains popular: Digital Cockpit Pro (digital instruments), online infotainment formula 8. 25-inch touchscreen composition, We Connect and We Connect Plus online and serve as steering wheel, multiserve as steering wheel, air conditioning Automatic Air Care Climatronic and a Bluetooth phone interface.
Independent style variant: the new Golf Alltrack. The current generation of the Golf Alltrack will also be presented with the new Golf Variant. As the so-called crossover between the Golf Variant and the SUV world, the new Golf Alltrack is just as popular with permanent all-wheel drive (4MOTION), increased floor space, an off-road look with quick bumpers, and a traditional interior. With this device, the vehicle also proves to be a true all-rounder beyond paved roads and, thanks to the permanent all-wheel drive, it is suitable as a towing vehicle with a maximum towing weight of 2000 kg. In all other respects, the Golf Alltrack technically matches the new Golf Variant: in addition to the digitized cabin, the features come with optional assistance systems, such as Travel Assist (assisted driving up to 210 km / h) and the new IQ headlights. Successful style. The Golf Variant has been an integral component of the Golf product line since 1993 with around 3 million games sold. To date, a total of five generations of the style have been released, based on the hatchback edition platform of the respective Golf generation. Models are being produced recently at the Wolfsburg plant in Germany to meet global demand.
