The Volkswagen Group has set itself the purpose of opening its Amazon-powered Industrial Cloud platform so that other generation corporations can attach their programs and help the automaker harness the power of its production plants.
Details of the company’s business cloud strategy emerged in March 2019, with the announcement that the Volkswagen Group had signed a multi-year cloud agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to create a centralized production platform for all of its production plants. In.
The bureaucracy platform is the foundation of Industrial Cloud, which uses device learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), and the AWS Knowledge Analytics team to process data generated through your production services in real time to optimize your procedures.
With the commercial cloud in place, the Volkswagen Group is now running with AWS and its Siemens integration spouse to open the platform to other generation and commercial companies, so they can submit their own software programs for Volkswagen use.
The concept is that these programs will be designed for each and every Volkswagen production facility operating through an app store-like interface, and paves the way for the creation of a wide variety of commercial software programs that Volkswagen groups can use.
“Each site will get programs for its machines, machinery and appliances directly from the commercial cloud to optimize production,” the company said in a statement.
Over time, this will lead to “significant gains in power and productivity,” the company said, while partner corporations will gain advantages from the opportunity to “continue to evolve and expand their programs into one of the world’s largest automotive production networks.”
To date, 11 corporations have signed up to register with Industrial Cloud, the Volkswagen Group said, to make their software programs available for the company’s production plans and production sites.
As examples of the types of software programs that its partners are developing, the Volkswagen Group has reported the creation of a set of rules based on synthetic intelligence created through one of its partners that will make its driverless factory logistics systems more efficient.
In addition, one of its partners has already created software designed to optimize the power of your plant and a dual-generation cloud-based virtual application so that the company can run simulations to evaluate the maintenance desires of its machines.
Over time, Volkswagen expressed the hope that all of its factories and the global supply chain would connect to the platform.
