Some 175 jobs are opening at The Volkswagen meetinghouse in Chattanooga, the company’s contracted employer to fill the posts.
“With the environment of difficult paints of recent months, we are extremely happy to hire volkswagen now that the plant has reopened,” said Jen Blackburn, Aerotek’s Chief Strategic Accounts. “Jobs at Volkswagen are a wonderful opportunity for others who are able to return to paintings and start a long-term career at a giant company.”
Aerotek is for workers with delight in the production, manufacture, machinery operations, warehouse or logistics to fill vacancies at the plant.
The paintings are for a contractual era and will last up to 24 months. Hourly salary starts at $14 and $17 after six months of paintings.
According to Aerotek, the work is similar to a continuous expansion of electric cars at the plant.
But workers can become full-time VW workers because slot machines are contract rental positions, the company said.
Aerotek’s online page directory production jobs at VW indicated that there may be a lot for new workers.
“They could paint up to 72 hours a week depending on production needs,” the website says. “On average, production paints 50 to 55 hours according to the week.”
Tom du Plessis, Volkswagen Chattanooga’s chief executive, said earlier this month that the German automaker saw strong demand for their cars in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
“The market had refused. Ours, ” he said. “We’re pretty much at our capacity.”
The plant’s CEO said consumers were buying the Atlas SUV and the new five-seat Atlas Cross Sport SUV.
“Stocks are very low,” he said.
VW returned in mid-May after a two-month closure due to coronavirus.
Volkswagen employs more than 3,800 more people to build the Passat midsize sedan and the two Atlas SUVs. He is also undergoing an $800 million expansion to serve as a long-term North American hub for the manufacture of electric cars for VW.
