The industry has extended its magnetic arms to accommodate the recent opening of Velocita Motors Inc. (VMI) of San Miguel Corp. (SMC) at its permanent headquarters in the exclusive Greenhills community of the town of San Juan.
The crowded occasion quickly made headlines at the SMC-owned showroom, sending Spencer “ASI” Yu into a state of ecstasy as another milestone was added immensely to ASY’s impressive resume. Isn’t the iconic BMW also under the wings of ASI?
And now this: VMI has the enviable difference of being the country’s legal importer-distributor of world-famous Ferrari cars from Italy.
When will the ASY base be full?
Only the inevitable Ramon S. Ang (RSA), president, CEO and COO of SMC, has the answer.
RSA, admittedly, attended to this ostentatious affair in his capacity as lead racer for Velocita Motors; He is in the esteemed company of Luca Zanetti, Ferrari’s global head of sales. Zanetti braved a grueling flight from Maranello, Italy, to honor this momentous occasion, and was even generous in answering questions from the media.
It may not be long before the new Velocita Motors facility is filled with Ferrari’s iconic lineups on a site that measures 1,500 square meters and has a total domain of 4,135 square meters.
Of course, Japheth Castillo, the sublime General Director of VMI, will have his paintings cut to keep the showroom in optimal condition all year round, with the Director of ASY watching over him, with his same true intransigence as always. No prisoners?
