It’s like an active vacancy in Wayne will have a new life.
Wayne City Council approved a plan request at its online assembly Tuesday for Grewal Trucking to build a new truck terminal on 2.8 acres of land south of Annapolis west of Treadwell. The development, which would be located in wasteland recently without direction, would serve as a terminal for the truck and garage car company in Array. A smaller construction would also be built, with plans for a larger construction in the future.
“This 2.8-acre facility will largely be a truck facility,” said Michael Buiten, the city’s construction and engineering director. “They start with a smaller design and then move on to a larger design.
The council approved the site’s implementation plan without much comment, following the approval board of the city planning commission before this month.

Councilman Kevin Dowd, who said he had reveled in trucking companies a little, asked if it was just a garage or if the paints would also be placed in cars when they were needed.
“Will they do maintenance on site?” He said. “Or will it be a deposit and an office?”
Navdeep Grewal with the company said they had about 50 trucks that could be stored there in the long run and that they would start storing them there without maintenance. When the tallest construction is built, maintenance may be performed, he said.
“We’ll do the maintenance when we have a store. For now, at first, we’ll have a shop,” he said. “The long-term plan, the construction goes Array … come with a workshop where we will do the maintenance.”
After the vote, Mayor John Rhaesa thanked Grewal for bringing his to the community.
“We look forward to running with you and thank you for your investment in our community,” he said.
