Utah Safety, former Hamilton and North Canyon star Alphonso Taylor enters the portal

Former Phoenix North Canyon securityman Alphonso Taylor, who played 10 games last season for Utah special teams, said he entered the motion portal.

“It’s a resolution that I, my circle of relatives and my Utah coaches think is the most productive thing for me,” Taylor told The Republic.”Nothing serious happened in the place where I broke free through the team or anything.

“I’m in smart contact with the whole program.”

Taylor, a notable defensive runner in Hamilton before completing his best school career in 2018 in North Canyon.

His father, Alphonso Sr., played on the defensive line for the Denver Broncos in 1993.Taylor’s uncle is Keith Rucker, who is a defensive version of the Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals.

Taylor, 6 feet, 180 pounds, said he would be able to return home if the University of Arizona or the State of Arizona showed up to do so.

“In fact, I’d think about it, but being close to home isn’t vital to me,” he said.

He said the vital thing is to place “a position that gives me a wonderful opportunity as a player and academically.”

“And a school for a game creator who can play in any position,” Taylor said.

He said he could play in one position and in a corner or five cents in defense.
