U. S. auto safety regulators have investigated General Motors Co. for believing that more than 870,000 of its full-size vans and SUVs have engine failures.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an initial evaluation of possible disorders with V8 engines in Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Pickup Trucks, as well as Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade Suvs. Vehicles covering Style 2019 through 2024 are included.
The NHTSA stated in documents released in its form that engine failure can lead to a loss of vehicle power, “which can lead to an increased threat of crash. “The firm won court cases from 39 incidents, none of which resulted in injuries.
Whistleblowers report a bearing failure that can cause the engine to seize or damage the connecting rod in the engine block. There are no symptoms of failure before the engine failed, NHTSA said.
GM said in A that it was co-opped in the NHTSA test.
