A died of her injuries after being worried about a car accident at the intersection of NW Second Street and NW 54th Avenue on Friday night.
Approximately 4:55 p.m. On Friday, officers were sent to the remains of the wreckage, which concerned two cars, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
They were later known as a blue Toyota and a white Ford.
An investigation into the turn of fate suggested that the Toyota, driven through Ankeny’s 25-year-old Carlos Padilla Hernandez, was heading south on NW Second Street and attempted to turn left onto NW 54th Avenue, according to an updated press. Launch.
The Ford drove north on NW Second Street when the Toyota spun in front of the vehicle, causing the crash, according to the press release.
Ricarda Hernández Velázquez, 57, of Ankeny, was a passenger in the Toyota and died in the accident. Carlos Padilla Hernandez was cited for not taking a left turn.
Ford’s four passengers were treated and released at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
