Original story

A 52-year-old Man from Tehama County fired on the FoodMaxx in Red Bluff Monday night and then died in a hospital, police said.

Police are still searching for the suspect, who they said they left in a brown Nissan Altima before police arrived. There’s at least one other person, the driver, who in the sedan said Red Bluff police lieutenant Matt Hansen.

Investigators attacked the guy who was shot, but Hansen told Record Searchlight that investigators didn’t know why.

Hansen stated that there was no explanation for why the public was in danger and that this was a remote incident.

He took position around 10:15 p.m.

Investigators said the 52-year-old man confronted another man outside the store and there was an argument. During the argument, the suspect shot the guy at the top of his torso. The guy then walked into the store where he collapsed.

Hansen said investigators didn’t know if the two men knew the other and that he didn’t know what they were arguing about before the shooting.

“It was about 3 minutes between the time he (the suspect) got out of the car and the moment he was returned to the car,” Hansen said.

“The victim was alive for a while, but he never told us who did it.”

A lot of other people gave the guy first aid before officials arrived, investigators said. The guy taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

Authorities have released the man’s call while his relatives are informed of his death.

This is the moment when there will be a fatal shooting at a Red Bluff company this summer.

Louis Wesley Lane, 31, of Redding, shot dead by police after he opened the chimney to Walmart store workers last June.

Lane is suspected of killing one worker and injuring four others in the incident. The deceased type known as Martin Haro-Lozano d’Orland.

Anyone with information about Monday’s shooting should call the Red Bluff Police Department at 527-3131.
