Triumph Motorcycles has announced that Evan Ferry will be parting ways with the team with immediate effect.
“It is with regret that Evan Ferry will no longer compete for Triumph Racing in the SuperMotocross World Championship,” the team said in a statement. “Evan joined the team during the creation of the Global Motocross Project, a historic milestone in a new segment. for Triumph, which included the progression of the new TF 250-X. The British manufacturer supported the 19-year-old in his career until the launch of the new U. S. racing team. He joined the U. S. Department of Homeland Security and hired several experienced professionals as a component of the program.
Ferry helped get off to a smart start for the new SuperMotocross manufacturer. After looking fast early in the first round of the East Division 250 in Detroit, Ferry struggled in his heat and was forced to compete in last-chance qualifying. He dominated that race and made it to the final, but was eliminated in a crash at the first corner that also wiped out Haiden Deegan and Cameron McAdoo.
Injured in the accident, Ferry has still returned to racing.
“Despite Triumph Racing’s efforts to assist Evan and adapt the program for the remainder of his rookie year, adding the offer to concentrate on the Pro Motocross series, Evan has made the decision to retire from the team,” he continued.
Ferry Triumph teammate Jalek Swoll finished sixth in Detroit and has been strong ever since. With four top-10 finishes and an 11 in six rounds this season, he currently sits ninth in the 250 East standings and 18th in the combined SuperMotocross standings. The top 20 riders at the end of the Pro Motocross season will qualify for all three rounds of the SuperMotocross World Championship, which begins on September 7, 2024 at zMax Dragway.
