TOKYO – The trial of former Nissan executive Greg Kelly, accused of conspiring to underestimate the profits of former President Carlos Ghosn, is scheduled to begin on September 15, state-owned broadcaster NHK reported Thursday. Nissan’s former executive leader, Hiroto Saikawa, will be among those who will appear at the Tokyo District Court hearing in September, NHK said. Kelly denies acting badly.
The trial originally scheduled to begin in April, but delayed in the component due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, according to NHK. Kelly, the former leading representative of the automaker, has been accused of helping Ghosn hide about $85 million (9 billion yen or 65.8 million pounds) in compensation.
Neither the court nor Kelly’s lawyer’s workplace was available without delay to comment.
Ghosn fled to Lebanon, his home of years of training, after being accused of monetary misconduct, adding an underestimation of his reimbursement in Nissan’s monetary states.
