Around eight vans and the cars accompanying them were in the Sainsbury’s car park at Reedswood Business Park, Reedswood Way, at around 6pm on Monday.
A local resident said cars had entered the parking lot overnight and trailers toward the back of the parking lot.
Darren Crabtree, 32, from Leamore, said: “I guess it’s a little worrying when you see them in large spaces like the fields outside your house, but they’re pretty far away in the parking lot.
“As long as they don’t cause any problems, it’s not a problem, they’re going to leave when the city council asks them to. “
This comes weeks after an organization of about 30 caravans set up an “illegal encampment” at Delves Green on Poplar Avenue on May 7.
At the time, West Midlands Police said of the Delves site: “We are in contact with our partners at Walsall City Council after a giant caravan organisation parked on Delves Green, near Poplar Avenue in Walsall, last night.
“We went there to communicate with the group.
“We have been informed that they will leave tonight and that if they do, enforcement action will be taken. “
A group of 15 vehicles had already been detected in the Sainsbury’s car park in April 2023, and an “illegal” moment installed at the junction of the A4210 and Proffitt Street in Walsall in August 2023.
In some cases, Walsall City Council and West Midlands Police joined forces to evict caravans.
In the past, the council has developed a committed site at the junction of Pleck Road and Darlaston Road, Walsall, Pleck’s commuter transit site.
