Toyota C-HR plug-in arrives in Ireland

The plug-in hybrid edition of Toyota’s new C-HR crossover has arrived in Ireland, with a starting price of €45,315.

The plug-in edition of the C-HR comes with a 13. 6 kWh battery that, when fully charged, gives the compact crossover a potential electric range of up to six hundred kilometers. According to Toyota, this is enough to satisfy the desires of many. people.

E-bookings for the C-HR plug-in hybrid opened at Toyota Ireland on 4 April, and interested consumers can pre-order one with a €500 deposit.

In terms of styling, the C-HR PHEV differs from the 1. 8-liter or 2. 0-liter hybrid only in its badging and the extra flap that covers the charging port. The plug-in hybrid formula uses a 150bhp 2. 0-litre petrol engine, running on the Atkinson combustion cycle, combined with a 120kW electric motor for a combined output of 223bhp. CO2 emissions start from 19 g/km and in the official WLTP test, the C-HR PHEV recorded a fuel consumption of just 0. 8 litres consistent with one hundred km (i. e. 353 mpg).

The C-HR PHEV comes with additional riding modes that allow you to save battery power for later or charge it while riding. It can be rated at up to 6. 6 kW from the mains, allowing for a full load in two. and an hourly report.

There’s also a predictive geolocation feature that, according to Toyota, helps the driver anticipate what the vacation might bring. The formula combines research into road and traffic situations with continuous learning of typical directions and the driver’s driving taste to automatically optimize the use of the car’s all-electric mode. The geolocation feature goes a step further by optimising battery use on adventure by analysing the planned direction and automatically switching between electric and hybrid vehicle modes when travelling outside the official low-emission zones. This maximises the electrical diversity that must be taken into account when entering a low-emission zone.

The C-HR PHEV also benefits from intelligent suspension and uses frequency-sensitive dampers provided through ZF, which aim to mirror some of the adjustable damping you get with adaptive electronics, but without load or weight.

Zoë Bradley, Director of Marketing Communications and Corporate Affairs at Toyota Ireland, said: “Following the positive reception of the remarkable and ambitious Toyota C-HR Hybrid that arrived in Ireland earlier this year, we expect a similar point of interest from Toyota C-HR. PHEV: With a natural electrical diversity of up to 66 km, the Toyota C-HR PHEV is ideal for commuting and longer trips, either of which takes advantage of dual powertrains and the fifth-generation hybrid system. It offers a top-notch balance of performance, efficiency, and ambitious style. We inspire all interested buyers to contact their local Toyota agent to schedule a test drive; we look forward to the Toyota C-HR PHEV following in the footsteps of the original Toyota C. -HR, one of the most popular models in Ireland. “
