Toyota announces $69 million expansion of Pendergrass campus

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced Tuesday that Toyota Industries Electric Systems North America, Inc. it would soon create 250 new jobs in the Jackson County domain with a $69 million expansion of its Pendergrass campus.

According to a press release from the governor’s office, TIESNA is a subsidiary of Toyota, based in Japan. It develops and manufactures automotive-related products, adding automotive air conditioning compressors and automotive electronic parts for automobile manufacturers around the world.

Japanese Consul General Mio Maeda and other local officials took the floor Tuesday afternoon.

“Georgia has stood out as a leader in the automotive industry and we are grateful to Toyota for choosing to expand its presence here in a position to do business,” Kemp said. “With those new jobs for hard-working Georgians, we will continue to work with our partners nationally and locally to bring even more opportunities to Georgia’s communities. “

TIESNA has been operating in Pendergrass since 2004, starting with TD Automotive Compressor Georgia, LLC, followed by Toyota Industries Compressor Parts America, Co. Recently, these corporations created more than 400 jobs in Jackson County.

TIESNA’s new facility will be on the campus at 1700 Valentine Industrial Parkway in Pendergrass. The new facility will produce DC-DC converters, which will convert upper voltage to low voltage to force ancillary equipment. Operations are expected to begin in 2025.
