A JUNK DEVELOPMENT with vintage cars brings together car enthusiasts from across the country to explore rows that transport them back in time.
Most landfills get a bad rap for being dirty, but one of them holds the crown of the nostalgia site.
Randy Reinert, co-owner of French Lake Auto Parts in Annandale, Minn. , manages the backyard with his wife, Tabitha.
The structure site spans 88 acres and has 1,500 cars collected in 68 years when Tabitha’s family converted the farm into a structure site.
Each year, Randy and Tabitha host a “Back to the ’50s” car show, which brings together others from all over Texas, California, and New York.
“[Visitors] drive their classics all the way to Minneapolis to see ‘Back to the ’50s,’ and then they come here and spend the day,” Randy told CBS News.
While the backyard represents much more than just forward-looking parts for those restoring an old car, it’s also a throwback to an excellent past.
“Breakages can have a negative reputation, but we’re proud of it. We don’t rank in certain years. We like old things,” Tabitha said.
As the generation improves and the world moves toward an all-electric future, many young recovery experts are drawn to the task of locating parts.
Especially since the shipyard dates back to the 1920s.
“There are some that date back to the ’20s, there’s not much left of them yet, they were given everything from the ’20s to the classics, to the trendy stuff,” Randy said.
“We don’t need to limit ourselves to just one logo or model, but all of them. “
To bring more than recovery experts to theArray, the couple took great care to make more than just a structureArray.
They paved and created roads that led to certain generations, makes, and models in order to locate spare parts.
And for the couple, what makes them happiest is seeing the enthusiasts precisely the piece they need.
Pointing to a 1965 Buick Skylark, the pair showed it virtually blank as other people decided on the portions they needed for a project.

“As you can see, the seats, the interior, the console, the engine and the hood were sold,” Randy said.
The couple also owns a junkyard, none of the 1,500 cars will pass through the territory.
Too many eyes have been opened with affection to justify it.
“It’s nostalgia. It takes them back to their childhood,” Randy said.
“Cars are kind of an anchor in your memory. To me, you’ll be reminded of Saturday with my grandfather. “
