GMC said its Hummer EV pickup truck and SUV models sold out for at least two years, with a full reserve list. Once known for its energy-intensive nature, the new Hummer EV has drawn attention to a new generation of electric driving.
Lately there are 90,000 reservations for the Hummer EV Pickup and Hummer EV SUV models, and it no longer accepts reservations. Even other people on the booking list can wait until 2024 before receiving a delivery. Production of the Hummer EV is suspended for now, with GM preparing the plant to be ready to ramp up production.
GMC logo leader Duncan Aldred said the automaker had 65,000 bookings in March, and admitted at the time that some of the consumers would be delivered until 2024, and then bookings kept pouring in.
GM representatives in Robb’s report:
“GMC Hummer EV consumers are excited about the off-road features and on-road functionality offered by their supervan, all with zero tailpipe emissions. This enthusiastic interest has led to more than 90,000 reservations for trucks and SUVs, and we are excited to say that this call has led to Hummer EV reservations being fully booked at this time. “
As of September 2022, only 2570 sets of Hummer electric pickups have been produced, but it expects to ramp up production in 2023. The company was able to produce 750 in September, which is the highest benchmark it has reached: just 9000 in a year. There are still many paintings to be done.

The GMC Hummer EV SUV is expected to begin production in 2023, with Hummer cars powered through GM Ultium’s battery and motor technologies.
