This tracks all manual transmission cars under $5,000

How many times have you entered a car search with filters set to “$5,000 and under”, maximum with the manual gearbox checked? The answer is probably more times than you’re willing to admit. I’ve wasted my time too, but I think I’ve discovered something that will help us all. Seat Time Cars is a site that tracks classified sales ads and puts them all in one place, and each and every car it lists is five thousand or less with a damn gear lever.

I stumbled across the page as I scrolled on Instagram and became temporarily obsessed. Before I can take a monetary resolution to end my marriage and buy a Mazda RX-8 for $3,500, I sought to reach out to the site’s founder to find out more.

Josh Mullineaux introduced the site after spending hours searching the Internet for reasonable cars that can be driven on the track. He started searching for cars manually and placed them on his online page before moving on to a more automated formula that groups cars from sites.

It should be noted that Seat Time Cars accumulates lists from other sites and filters them to meet express prices and serve as criteria, as do car gurus. Mullineaux said he discovered that cars with a maximum value of less than $5,000 are regularly sold, regularly within 3 days, so he sought to create a service to alert others as soon as the classified ads were released. Every day, the site sends a newsletter with new lists and extracts ads from all over the Internet, adding Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace.

You can see the cars you have for free, but you can still see full classified ads, $10 seat time rates consistent with the month, or a one-time payment of $49.95 to access classified ads. If you don’t need to pay, classified sales ads are displayed on the Internet for your research. They just won’t be in the same place.

It’s tempting to call Seat Time a moment of laughter for enthusiasts, such as Bring a Trailer, however, you may not find beloved collectibles here. Again, that’s the kind of point, and when was the last time you saw a car sell on BaT for less than $5,000?
