From road to track

GMC reaffirmed its goal of introducing the new Hummer later this fall, releasing a teaser video that gives us our most productive view of the reborn EV application vehicle.

The one-minute announcement, narrated through three-time NBA champion LeBron James, mentions a lot about the Hummer we already know: it will produce 1000 horsepower at 11,500 pound-feet of wheel torque (engine torque multiplied by the gear), with an estimated time of 0-60 plane 3 seconds. It will have a detachable targa roof and will be presented in pickup and SUV rack styles.

But the promotional video also shows many things you’ve never noticed before. There is a scene that shows a life-size clay style of the vehicle, and another that appears to show a prototype that is assembled in a factory. These clips are what was most noticeable about the Hummer’s design since his Super Bowl announcement in February. Towards the end of the video, we show silhouettes of the two frame styles:

The video also mentions two driving modes we hadn’t heard of before: an “Adrenaline” mode and a “Crabe” mode. We suspect that Adrenaline mode has something to do with speed, acceleration or some other form of personality. Crab mode, however, remains a mystery. A GMC spokesperson would provide additional main points when contacted via Road-Track.

Let us know what you think this is in the comments.

We can’t wait to see the finished product.
