Suffolk police said the forklift towed thieves driving a 4×4 Toyota from a structure site on Bull Lane shortly before 12.30pm on Tuesday.

Soon after, officers patrolling the A1092 saw the Toyota on the road and a forklift and truck in a nearby field.

Then two or three strangers ran to the Toyota, left and couldn’t prevent the police.

Officers followed the vehicle but stopped near a box in Cavendish.

The Toyota was later discovered in a box but there was no trace of the suspects. The truck and forklift were also recovered.

It is suggested that anyone with data on the incident, or who has seen 3 men on Cavendish’s Peacocks Road at that time, contact the police, bringing the crime reference 37/49362/20.
