Prices can be found on Toyota’s website and on the specialized vehicle data site, duoporta. com. Arriving at the same time as the decals on the electrified Hilux and GR Sport, the Fortuner adopts the same 48V moniker as its sibling, and the formula is sold as an option to the regular 2. 8 GD-6 turbodiesel.
The hybrid, which was first raised in the face of the eventual adoption of a hybrid powertrain in 2021, combines the 48-volt belt-driven starter/generator and battery with the flagship GD-6 motor to produce a total of 162 kW/565 Nm for a short time only.

Compared to the non-electrified diesel burner, the Fortuner 48V achieves an improvement in fuel consumption of 0. 3 L/100 km, according to duoporta. com, which in two-wheel drive models rises to 7. 3 L/100 km and 7. 6 L/100. km in the case of all-wheel drive.
Despite the price reveal, no specifics are known, although, as with the Hilux, the biggest difference is expected to be in the hybrid’s specific graphics and presentations within the toolpool and infotainment display.
For now, it remains to be seen whether the Fortuner 48V will launch before or after the first Hilux market.
As with the regular 2. 8 GD-6 and 2. 4 GD-6, the Fortuner 48V’s tag value includes a three-year/100,000 km warranty and a nine-service/90,000 km maintenance plan.
