Renters of both vehicles had used Turo, a peer-to-peer app. Officials are investigating possible connections between the two cases.

The trucks used in the fatal attack in New Orleans and the Trump International Hotel explosion in Las Vegas were rented through the same pairs rental application, Turo, to the company.
The owner of the Ford van used in New Orleans identified his vehicle when he saw photographs that appeared the truck and newsletter for the news. He had rented the truck to a 42 -year -old army veteran who later used him to walk in crowds in Bourbon Street, killing at least 15 other people and hurting dozens of more.
The owner of the truck, who did not need his call used, said he rented five cars in Turo as a moment of income, but had no plans to use the platform after the attack.
In Vegas, the Police said in a press convention that Tesla Cybertruck that exploded out of the doors, the hall of the Trump hotel, killing one and wounding at least another seven, was also rented to Turo. They were investigating imaginable links.
The company said in a statement that it was “actively partnering with law enforcement authorities as they investigate both incidents.”
“We do not believe that either renter involved in the Las Vegas and New Orleans attacks had a criminal background that would have identified them as a security threat,” the statement said. “We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards in risk management.”
Turo, which began as a venture capital-backed startup in 2009, connects car owners with people looking to rent a car as an alternative to using a traditional rental company. The concept is similar to Airbnb, in that customers can rent a specific car make and model and coordinate pickup and drop-off with the car owner.

The November presentation said that about 150,000 people rent their cars that period, and there were around 350,000 listings of active vehicles in more than 16,000 cities such as September. Some car owners have used service to compensate for their bills and car costs, while others have rented many cars such as their main source of income.
The company expected to go with this year and presented for the first time the documents for an initial public offer in 2022.
