The Star Trust Ball helps improve the lives of local people

East Midlands charity, Star Trust – The Charitable Entrepreneurs, has donated the proceeds from its annual ball to a number of smaller charities in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire that concentrate on the lives of local people.

The charities were invited to an occasion at Graypaul Maserati Nottingham, the sponsor of the annual ball at the Stapleford Park Hotel and Spa last September, which raised £114,000.

The submissions brought the Star Trust’s total donations over the past ten years to £852,642 to 114 charities, benefiting more than 71,000 people in the East Midlands.

The recipients of the latest investment were:

– The Children’s Bereavement Centre in Newark, which won £10,287 to fund 8 individual bereavement counselling sessions.

Pasic Cancer Support received £10,708 for its family service for the families of the 278 children and other young people undergoing cancer treatment at Nottingham Children’s Hospital.

– Nottingham and County Disability Assistance won £2000 to supply 400 meals in bulk to participants in their social groups.

The Derventio Charitable Trust won £2,739 to pay for 155 food baskets for citizens of the charity-funded accommodation in Derby and Derbyshire.

– Level Youth Collective has been awarded £3000 for arts projects involving young people in Derbyshire with autism and neurodivergents.

Saffires in Leicester won £3,000 for his paintings addressing the sexual exploitation of women in a comprehensive way for women affected by prostitution.

Arthritis Support Leicestershire won £4,500 for the charity’s wellbeing activities programme.

Star Trust founder Steve Hampson said: “The fantastic businesses and Americans in the East Midlands who make up the Star Trust know this so well that their generosity translates into genuine, genuine people at the heart of our local communities.

“We continue to be hugely inspired through the creativity, hobby and commitment shown through the small charities in the East Midlands, whose incredible paintings go unnoticed but on which so many depend.

“Our goal is to help grassroots charities that are making a positive difference to the lives of people in their local communities and all of those charities had compelling investment cases.

“We are now open to programmes and I urge charitable SMEs to contact us if they have obtained our investment in the last 3 years. “
