BMW announced electric close-ups, noting that the next-generation 5, 7 and X1 series would be presented in all-electric versions. However, he did not make the same announcement for Series 3. However, we don’t really want BMW’s confirmation to see the fact before our eyes.
These latest spy photos show a 3 series camouflaged from the existing generation with an “Electric Test Vehicle” sticker stuck to the door. Of course, plug-in hybrid cars also carry those adhesives, but the lack of visual exhaust at the rear (and the fact that the 330 already exists) suggests that this is an EV. It’s in this rear bumper that you’ll probably see one of the differences between the Gas Series 3 and the next Electric Series 3. Without the need for exhaust cuts, BMW can design a new bumper with logo and distinguish it from others. Camouflage on the front bumper and grille also suggests that BMW will adjust the face of the 3 Series. Unlike the next i4 (EV based on series 4), this will have a general size grid. The giant opening at the back of the bumper has already ensured that the mouth stretches too far, and the bumper design is also not conducive to the giant Series 4 grille.
All of this, however, may be a moot point. This specific tester appears to be the long battle edition of Series 3. BMW sells the long battle car in China, not the Etats-Unis. If the style continues with the electric 3 Series, this style may end up being exclusively finished for the Chinese market. BMW can also use the long battle style for electric editing, as it allows for more battery space. If that’s the case, there’s still a chance we’ll see an electric Series 3 in this aspect of the world. However, BMW’s announcement that the Five Series will have an electric style may collide with the giant 3 Series, as both may end up being dangerously similar.
We also don’t know how BMW technically called this vehicle. Obviously, the i3 is already taken and established as BMW’s small urban sedan, but this vehicle does not have a planned successor. BMW can simply reuse the new car call to suit the already developed electric call scheme. However, BMW has not explained major points in this area.
As for timing, an electric 3 Series will probably be in a few years. BMW hasn’t released its i4 yet, so this 3 Series will probably come after that. The fact that it is obviously based on the existing 3 Series is reassuring enough that we will see it soon, when BMW gives the 3 Series its first soft drink.
