The sedans to come in 2019: Honda Civic, Toyota Camry, BMW 3 Series and cars

Although sedans are not as popular with Indian car buyers as they have been in the past, brands continue to queue for the new year. These come with brand new models like the BMW 3 Series, normal upgrades like the Hyundai Elantra, electric cars like the Tigor EV and highly anticipated returns like the Honda Civic! Here’s a look at what we can expect this year.

Toyota Camry 2019

Toyota’s flagship sedan in India was recently taken off the carmaker’s official website. However, the all-new generation of the Camry was soon spotted testing on Indian roads. The new-gen Camry is based on the same TNGA platform as the premium Lexus ES 300h. So expect it to be spacious as well as quite stylish too. Like before, expect Toyota to offer it with a hybrid powertrain only.

2019 Audi A8

The Audi luxo-barge, the flagship product, will be successful on our shores in 2018. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. So expect me to make your presence felt in the luxury sedan segment this year. It is very likely to feature many more high-tech features than before and you can bet that this will give the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the BMW 7 Series a race for your money.

Honda Civic

The legendary sedan from Honda made its India debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. Now in its tenth-gen avatar, we are expected to get the facelifted version that was unveiled across the globe late last year. For the first time ever, the new Civic also features a diesel engine. The diesel unit will be borrowed from the CR-V, while the petrol engine could be the updated version of the 1.8-litre naturally-aspirated motor that powered the older car.

Audi A6 2019

The A6 has many visual similarities to its older brother, the A8, now. It even benefits from a new lightweight hybrid generation that helps you drive at speeds ranging from 55 km/ha to save fuel.

The Hyundai Elantra’s facelift

The Elantra has undergone a full face wash and looks much more competitive than before. The updated sedan will also have an updated list of devices. The existing 1.6-liter U2 diesel engine can also be replaced by a stronger 1.6-liter U3 CRDi engine that produces 8 horsepower and 60 Nm more.

Tata Tigor EV
