The relaunch of Ford’s government’s neglected school

Established weekly as Vancouver news, way of life and entertainment for 50 years, The Georgia Straight is an integral component of the West Coast’s active urban lifestyle with more than 1,081 million readers consistent with the week.

Also, no tipping rule looks like a scam and Glen Stewart Ravine is a wonderland in readers’ mail this week.

SARS-2 continues to burn in parts of the Toronto metropolitan area, in conditions (NOW online, September 3). And the sloppy plan to restart the Ford-Lecce school could be an opportunity for a new broadcast. I’ll locate him soon enough. For more than 3 months, Ford’s government has gone from reporting the number of others testing daily to the number of tests performed. Epidemiologists are not inspired by this subterfuge.

The beginning of September marks the beginning of a new school year for many young people, but this year is full of new uncertainties and anxieties. When the coronavirus pandemic erupted, education around the world closed, forcing some 1. 6 billion academics into more than 190. countries to leave their classrooms. According to the UN, about 23. 8 million of these young people may not be able to return to school.

The school crisis caused by COVID-19 only aggravates the situation of young people facing humanitarian crises before the pandemic. Without the help of the global community, the long term remains bleak for these young people. By investing at least 1% of Canada’s reaction to COVID-19 in the Global Emergency Fund, we can provide assistance to provide much-needed assistance for refugees living through dual pandemic emergencies and humanitarian crises.

Why would other people continue to paint like waiters if restaurants stop tipping?(NOW online, August 29).

My wife works as a waitress. Without the recommendation to make up for everything that happens every day, like other people looking to get loose food by putting things in their own food, drunks beat you, food and athletes, I’m pretty sure the rotation in those restaurants will be crazy.

Need smart service? Point, it’s so simple. If other people who stop by restaurants can’t leave a tip, they shouldn’t be there in the first place.

This tip-free concept looks like a scam from place-to-eat owners to see if they can get away with cheap, underpaid labor.

Reassign Ford’s government cuts to bus routes (NOW online, August 26) “For people,” my ass!

It amazes me that the 46 Martin Grove bus has not been discussed as an imaginable candidate for underperforming bus steering cuts. This would mean a 15 minute walk to and from Kipling station each time I pass the boxes, longer if I have to wait. for a Kipling bus that has room, or I can just walk 20 minutes and catch the Kipling Express in Eglinton.

Cutting 48 Rathburn, 49 Bloor and 50 Burnhamthorpe means there is no East-West service from Dundas (below Bloor from Six Points West) to Eglinton, leaving others to reach East Mall or Kipling.

This is that there will be no bus service to the Etobicoke Olympium or Centennial Park (Site of the Ford Fests Pasts).

But, of course, Doug can drive anywhere he pleases and never get into the TTC, unless it’s time for re-election when he talks about his tired message of being the champion of working people.

Re Pandemic Walk: Glen Stewart Ravine (NOW online, August 31). Thank you for sharing your views on this nonviolent local wonderland. Two quick thoughts: first, just east of the Kingston Road entrance, locate the captivating village of Kingston Road, complete with new restaurants and cafes from some of the oldest.

Second, Ivan Forrest Gardens is a captivating place for the community. Remember that the young people who play are just young people betting, don’t rush to use your cell phone.

There are two restaurants that gave King West the half-closed finger (NOW online, September 1) Good trip for Kit Kat. The position is too expensive and only for theater lovers. The food was a little acceptable.
