Aston Martin has announced that Mike Krack will be team principal for the F1 2025 season, with a recent hire taking over the leadership role.
A new call-up will take over as boss at Aston Martin for the 2025 F1 season, with Mike Krack stepping aside from the lead role in handing over the reins to Andy Cowell.
On Friday, Aston Martin announced that he had restructured his control team for season F1 2025.
Krack, who has been team leader for 3 seasons, will participate in a new role as a track leader.
Replacing him as team boss will be Andy Cowell, the former head of Mercedes High-Performance Powertrains. Cowell joined the team in the middle of 2024, stepping up as Group CEO in October to succeed Martin Whitmarsh.
Under Krack, Aston Martin ran seventh in general in 2022, before moving to fifth place in 2023 and repeat the feat in 24.
2023 brought plenty of highs for the Silverstone-based squad, with Fernando Alonso rising to the occasion with a competitive AMR23 to take several podiums and even, occasionally, getting himself into the running for a potential race victory.
However, the 2024 car proved less competitive with no podiums possible. Alonso scored 70 of Aston Martin’s 94 points, with Lance Stroll picking up the remaining 24.
Tom McCullough, who had been head of trackside engineering, will remain with Aston Martin – his role will be a broader one, working as leadership for Aston Martin’s expansion of racing categories.
With Cowell as CEO/Team Principal and Krack as athletics director, new technical firm Enrico Cardin will lead the design and build arm for next year’s AMR25 and AMR26; this will be the watchful eye of Adrian Newey, who has signed as signed as signed as signed as signed. Signed as signed as signed as signed as signed as managed by a technical spouse in mid-2024.
“I spent the last 3 months perceiving and evaluating our performance, and I was incredibly inspired through the dedication, commitment, and hard paints of this team,” Cowell said of the modifications made.
“With the finishing touch of the AMR generation campus and our transition in 2026 to a full team of works, along our strategic partners Honda and Aramco, we travel to a championship-winning team.
“These organizational adjustments are a herbal evolution of the plans of several years that we have planned to do and I am incredibly excited about the future. “
It is a moment of intense replacement for Aston Martin. While the body of workers and control is replaced, Lawrence Stroll has caused a massive review of the team’s comforts in its Silverstone stone base, transforming it into one of the fashionable and complex maximum factories in the grid, the new Infrastructure includes a simulated platform and the wind tunnel.
