The new RS Q8 Performance V8 gets the toughest engine ever designed by Audi Sport

Audi has strengthened its most robust car with larger air intakes, a new grille, many exhaust pipes and, what is it so small,. . . The strongest combustion engine ever built.

So welcome to the Audi RS Q8 and RS Q8 Performance: two top-of-the-range versions of Audi’s premium SUV, with more strength and grip than you can ever ask for in a giant of this type.

Both cars feature the ubiquitous 4. 0-liter twin-turbo V8, the RS Q8 capable of generating 592 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3. 8 seconds, while the RS Q8 Performance, even more efficient. (photo above), raises the bar to 631 HP, 627 torques and a time from 0 to one hundred km/h of 3. 6 seconds. This newest engine is the largest engine Audi Sport has ever made, surpassing the monster that lives in the RS6 Avant: 621 hp in its newest Performance guise.

The Performance car also benefits from a lighter exhaust formula that helps develop the all-important force output, while generating a louder noise. That will make you popular.

Both leviathans come with quattro, an eight-speed automatic transmission with faster shift times, and a mechanical mid-differential capable of splitting the force 40:60 between the front and rear axles. You’ll notice that this causes it to be skewed backwards.

Apparently, when “slippage occurs”, no more than 70% of the V8’s torque is sent forward and up to 85% backward, which Audi says means more cornering. Accurate and less understeer. Exactly what you’re looking for in a large, heavy SUV.

Adaptive air suspension is popular, but if you need it to be more dynamic, you can opt for the “dynamic” package which adds active roll stabilization (via two electric motors and a 48V battery), a quattro game differential and a ceramic brake. the latter popular in the RS Q8 Performance).

There are gentle new ones, with the option of gentle lasers, new paint features, new wheel features ranging from large to very large but lightweight, other colours for the interior and some additional RS-specific knick-knacks like Alcantara here, and replace soft cues there.

There’s no word on pricing in the United Kingdom yet, but it will go on sale in Germany starting at €141,900 for the RS Q8 and €155,700 for the RS Q8 Performance, which has the toughest combustion engine. The toughest ever built by Audi Sport.
