The new Infiniti QX80 monograph will be presented in June

On an Infiniti occasion in North America, Infiniti showed that a new QX80 Monograph Concept will debut in June 2023, as a preview of the new next-generation edition of the brand’s flagship SUV.

During a presentation, Infiniti senior chief operating officer Bob Welby showed a slide of a new concept on a sheet, telling us what it would be.

If the concept call sounds familiar, it’s because it’s not the first time Infiniti has introduced one with the same nomenclature. A 2017 concept from the same call (pictured) showed a preview of the design implemented in the 2018 facelift of the Infiniti QX80, and Infiniti used the Monograph call more recently in a concept that featured a preview of the new QX60.

The existing moment-generation QX80 has been with us since 2010, when it still wore the QX56 badge. It underwent two facelifts in the thirteen years since its reveal, once in 2015 and the time is the aforementioned 2018 revision to update it to a new Infiniti Taste Language. It’s one of the oldest new cars still on sale in the U. S. The U. S. government desperately wants an upgrade.

Unfortunately, no additional main points have been given about the new QX80 monograph, but we can assume that it will be developed on a new platform and will have a host of new technologies to bring the halo style into the future.

The existing styling stores its Nissan F-Alpha architecture with the Nissan Armada SUV and full-size Titan pickup, both of which have been with us for a few years. Nissan and Infiniti are likely to further update this platform, as its body-on-frame structure is ideal for off-road SUVs like the QX80.

In any case, we expect the QX80 to ditch the existing 5. 6-liter V8 engine in favor of a more modern turbocharged engine, most likely a V6 with the help of hybridization, turbocharging, or both. That’s the path followed by its main rival, the Lexus LX with garish styling, and at a time when emissions law is getting stricter, it would be a wise move for Nissan.

We’ll know more closely the concept reveal in June of this year, but expect the production edition to arrive no more than a year from now.
