The new Announcement of the Lordstown Endurance Electric Forklift Can Do the Job

There’s a smart chance Lordstown Motors has named its first vehicle to come, the Endurance, because that’s what enthusiasts of the new automaker want while patiently waiting for the company, regardless, to bring the all-electric van to life. . Besides, a truck called Lordstown Patience just doesn’t sound the same.

That said, things are moving. The first instalments of the Endurance are scheduled for the summer of 2021, and if it followed the history of Lordstown Motors, until the moment it was Workhorse or even earlier, even if, technically, Lordstown Motors only began in November 2019, then we know that it has been a long and strange adventure to get where we can despite all seeing a video of the EV in actionArray directed through Harrison Boyce.

But we’re here now, and whether you’re new to the company or waited, you’ll probably like what you see. On the one hand, it is a typical truck ad, with farmers and structure staff, all hunting heroic and busy. There are cows, sparks and sunrises and that makes me need to be more productive in my life. On the other hand, it’s a truck ad that rolls with the atmosphere of the shotgun sitting. There is a mandatory mention of the electric power train and what it can do for the force equipment on site, but there is also a large aerial photo of the Endurance driven through a solar field. It’s an undeniable reminder that this truck is different.

Lordstown told me that the video had been filmed earlier this month by a skeleton team (following social estrangement measures) and a genuine circle of relatives that was quarantined on their farm.

The 2021 staying power will start at $52,500 before tax credits and will have an EPA-certified diversity of more than 250 miles. You will be able to tow 7,500 pounds, in charge of this diversity. Safety features include lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking and rear cross-traffic alert.

When Lordstown Motors unveiled the Endurance last June at a combined/MAGA political product disclosure meeting with Vice President Mike Pence, the company said it had won 20,000 pre-orders for the EV and would now increase production.

As this new video and cargo calculator in Lordstown demonstrates, the small start-up must face the big players in the pickup space. Although the ad doesn’t call any specific competitors, it compares the cost of buying a Ford F-150 Lariat 4WD with an Endurance and, since electric cars are less expensive to use, no matter how many kilometers you drive or how much time you have. the truck, the Endurance comes out less expensive on site. We can’t wait to know if that will be enough to influence the masses. At least we have a great eye candy to consume in the meantime.

I’ve been writing about electric cars, hybrids and hydrogen since 2006. My articles and reviews have been published on most wonderful eco-friendly car blogs, Automotive News, The New York Times, Car Talk and other places. I believe that the abandonment of gas cars is vital and attractive not only to the automotive industry, but also to the world at large. Add to that the latest change to self-driving cars, and there are more attractive adjustments that are transmitted now that most people can’t understand. And let’s not say that electric cars can be incredibly fun. If I’ve learned anything in my years about this rhythm, it’s that once I’ve driven electric, you don’t need to back down.
