The new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is an all-electric powerhouse. With more than 1,000 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 2. 1 seconds, it’s the fastest and toughest road-going Porsche ever.
Porsche has been on a roll in recent months by expanding its all-electric range. After unveiling the all-electric Macan in January, its first established styling shifted to an electric vehicle, Porsche followed up with an upgraded Taycan last month.
The new Taycan is better in every way, with more range, faster charging, and higher performance. “We continue this story of good luck with the extensively updated Taycan,” said line manager Kevin Giek.
Porsche has included a larger battery (105 kWh), new thermal management, and a heat pump to improve performance.
The all-new 2025 Taycan reaches “new heights of performance” in all versions compared to its predecessors.
Porsche has added features such as a new thrust system for overtaking that increases force up to 70 kW (for ten seconds) at the touch of a button. With up to 938 hp to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4. 5 seconds, the new Taycan Turbo is Porsche’s toughest road vehicle to date, until Porsche unveiled the Taycan Turbo GT on Monday.
Porsche teased the rugged Taycan Turbo GT several times ahead of its official debut on Monday.
A pre-production Lars Kern model finished the Nürburgring lap in 7:07:55. That’s 26 seconds faster than the Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport and 18 seconds ahead of the Tesla Model S Plaid’s record (with track pack) of 7. :25:31.
Porsche introduced the new styling with the Weissach package after winning the fastest production car title at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca in California.
With a lap time of 1:27:87, Kern set a record. To prove your mettle on the court, it’s not enough to be as strong as possible. The overall package of acceleration and braking, cornering grip, aerodynamics, stability and fit must be perfect,” Giek explained.
He added that Porsche’s engineers have already done a wonderful job with the updated Taycan, but that “our new GT cars, once back, obviously raise the bar even higher in terms of driving dynamics and fun. “
Porsche’s new high-performance vehicle has broken the previous record of 1:30:30 set by a Tesla Model S Plaid in 2020.
Although electric cars drive faster on the tracks, they have all been modified. With up to 1,092 hp (with the Weissach package), the new Porsche beats the Tesla Model S Plaid with 1,020 hp.
Tesla claims that the Model S Plaid can go from 0 to 60 mph in 1. 99 seconds (with deployment subtracted). That would beat the 2. 1sec claimed by Porsche.
Porsche and Tesla are vying for the name of the fastest production car since the Taycan won it in 2019.
I sit with my long-range Model S with a 0-60 in 3. 1 seconds. The Plaid is awesome, but I prefer the LR’s range of over 400 miles!
At first glance, the high-performance vehicle looks like a sporty Taycan. Styling includes a front wing with aeroblades and an adaptive rear spoiler. It also includes more “racing atmosphere” than the Turbo and Turbo S styles.
The Weissach package does away with all off-road driving gadgets, such as the rear seats, to save £157 compared to the Taycan Turbo S.
The new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT and Turbo GT with Weissach package are now available to order. The first models are expected to arrive in U. S. dealerships this summer.
