The Mazda CX-5 2020 is deliciously high-end

Although the 2021 Mazda CX-5 is very different, it has a lot more cash this time.

Mazda announced tuesday the value of the crossover SUV and there is good news for buyers of the basic CX-5. First, the value only increases to $80. Second, a new 10.25-inch infotainer screen is now a component of the team. The new demonstration is the icing on the cake of Mazda’s wide variety of SUV equipment, which also includes automatic LED headlights, rain sensor wipers and adaptive cruise control. Outdoors, the CX-5 2021 costs $26370 to get started and all-wheel drive is a $1400 option.

At the end of the volume, the CX-5 Touring gets a lot more for much more money. Starting at $28,110, $180 more than the previous model, the endpoint fits the heated front seats with a simulated leather lining. “Lux Suede” inserts are now also part of the upholstery. Two-zone air conditioning, smart keyless input and LED headlights with a newly added auto-update feature are now components of the Touring version. That’s something for less than $200 more than the 2020 CX-5, and a favorite set adds more luxury products, adding a Bose audio system, an automatic dimming mirror and more.

The Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve and CX-5 models are also coming back, there is no replacement of the first two. Prices for Grand Touring and Grand Touring Reserve start at $31,560 and $36,385. Please note that the Grand Touring Reserve is exclusively supplied with all-wheel drive. Prices increase up to just $150 for any of the versions.

The most sensible thing to do is the Signature model, which adds two new active protection features by 2021. Emergency automatic braking at the rear and a driver’s attention alert are recorded for Mazda’s i-Activsense gear set, but the SUV has much more. Four-wheel drive is popular and comes exclusively with the 2.5-liter four-liter turbo engine, which develops 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque at a 93-octane index. Prices are going up from $250 to $38,505.

If you need the turbocharged engine elsewhere, the Grand Touring Reserve also offers a popular, more spicy power plant, but is also optional in the CX-5’s new Carbon edition. Otherwise, the 2.5-liter natural suction four cylinders provides 187 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque. We don’t know what’s going on with the diesel engine yet, we suspect it was a thing to do. A spokesman for Mazda told Roadshow that “there was no update” on the oil burner.

The CX-5 2021 will begin reaching dealerships next month.
