Here’s the inside of the 2025 Kia Tasman camouflage, about six months before the new ute is unveiled, and more than a year before it hits the Australian showroom.

A video posted on social media and received via Tech EFTM, where those exclusive screenshots also come from, shows that the Tasman will borrow heavily from other models in the Kia lineup.

The short clip starts with the exterior of the Kia ute, which is covered in the same costume as the prototypes seen, unless there is a glossy layer underneath the foam panels and a black layer.

The vehicle door soon opens and the user filming the video, which appears to have been granted through a moment of the video.

This is the first time the Tasmanian interior has been filmed anywhere in the world, with or in disguise.

You see what appear to be the same 12. 3-inch screens used in the Kia EV9 electric SUV, for infotainment and tools, with a row of shortcut buttons below the center.

It looks like most of the climate controls have moved to the touchscreen; the video discovered via EFTM shows shortcut switches for air temperature and fan speed, as well as a volume knob.

The guide wheel resembles that of the new Kia K4 small car, which replaces the Cerato, while its presence is noticeable in the sunroof, a rarity in the utility vehicle category.

Other highlights of the video include a wand-style gear selector on the guide column, as on other new cars from Hyundai and Kia, as well as heavy-duty door handles, giant cup holders, and one or two wireless phone chargers.

The front seats of this left-wheel-drive prototype appear to have heating and ventilation, which is uncommon in UTIs. The SsangYong Musso, also from South Korea, is one of the few cars sold in Australia with ventilated seats.

A “Tasman” license plate on the rear of the cockpit suggests that this prototype is being used for previews of racers, EFTM speculates.

The Kia Tasman sports bold, rugged styling and appears to be larger than Australia’s best-selling Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger, especially on the top roofline.

It is expected to launch in Australia in mid-2025 with a 2. 2-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, ahead of an electric edition in progress to be launched in 2026.

Kia Australia is playing a key role in drawing up plans and progression for its first double-cab vehicle and has seen the HiLux and Ranger as key benchmarks, with a payload of one tonne and a towing capacity of 3. 5 tonnes.
