Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented the logo of India’s G20 presidency. The logo depicts a lotus flower (which is also the symbol of the BJP party).
The Prime Minister said that the seven petals of the lotus constitute the seven continents of the globe and the seven musical notes, adding that the G20 will bring the world in combination in harmony.
“I congratulate my compatriots on the historic case of India’s presidency of the G20. ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’ is India’s global compassion firm. Lotus represents India’s cultural heritage and its confidence in bringing the world closer together,” he said.
The G20 is the main forum for external economic cooperation, accounting for around 85% of global GDP, more than 75% of global industry and around two-thirds of the world’s population.
“This G20 logo is just a symbol, it’s a message, an emotion that runs through our veins. It is a resolution, which is now included in our thoughts,” Prime Minister Modi said while explaining the logo.

The G20 summit will take place on November 15-16 in Bali and Modi is expected to be among the most sensible leaders in attendance.
