The funeral of a former Yeovil Rugby Club player killed in a car accident last month took place today (Thursday, September 3).
Daniel Williams transported through horses and carriages from the club on Dorchester Road to Yeovil Crematorium this afternoon.
Williams died in a car accident near a National Trust site in Dorset on Tuesday, August 18.
The collision between a white BMW 114i and a white Skoda Fabia occurred on Blandford Road near Kingston Lacy, just outside Wimborne, just before 8 p.m.
The driving force of the BMW, a woman still unknown about 50 years from Warminster, was declared dead on site and her relatives have been informed.

Mr. Williams’ family circle paid tribute last week saying, “Daniel will be greatly missed by his entire circle of family and friends. Daniel was the incredibly loving top user and a father to his youngsters, whom he enjoyed very much.” .
“Daniel was a loving boy with a type center and the funniest sense of humor, satisfied with a contagious smile.He did everything he could to make others satisfied and worked to help others and nothing was too much.
“Daniel has left a huge hole in everyone’s life and will be deeply missed.”
The Yeovil Rugby Club shared a photo and tribute to Mr. Williams on his public Facebook page the week.
President Paul McHugh said: “It is wonderful that we announce the passing of former Yeovil Rugby player Danny Williams.
“It is with wonderful sadness that we spread the terrible news that former Yeovil Rugby player Danny Williams tragically died on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, in a car twist of fate near Kingston Lacey, Dorset.
“Since we gained the tragic news of Danny’s defeat, we have painstakingly tried to find the words to describe how we feel, just as a club, but as a Yeovil Rugby family.
“The fact is that there are no words to verbalize this tragic and premature loss.
“Nothing that can be said can take into account this hearta pain and the impact it will have on all of us.
“We would like to take some time as a club and network to start perceiving what happened and as more main points available, we will pass them on to all club members.
“Our deepest condolences are transmitted to Danny’s circle of family and friends, now and forever.
“Together we are.”
