Keith Stanton, Interim Chief Operating Officer of Aston Martin, said: “It’s a real privilege to be here today to witness the finishing touch of Aston Martin DBX’s first production. I am incredibly proud of the Aston Martin team who worked so hard for this former Ministry of Defense site at a world-class car production facility, which now produces cars, is a testament to the endurance and courage of everyone at Aston Martin.
“It is an honour to see the first DBX come off the line and my only regret is that everyone who works for this incredible brand can’t be here to witness it.”
The first DBX was produced just over 4 years ago since Aston Martin announced that it would create a new production plant in south Wales and create up to 750 jobs.
Economy, Transport and North Wales Ken Skates said: “This is a historic moment for Aston Martin and Wales. It is also a massive victory for the attitude of the Welsh Government.
“The DBX is an exceptional vehicle for one of the world’s most sumptuous car brands, and will be at the heart of this iconic company’s expansion plan and ambitions for the future.
“I couldn’t be more proud to see this SUV made in Wales and off the production line. It says a lot about the determination and skills of the world-class workforce we have here in Wales.”
The first deliveries of DBX to consumers are expected to begin later this month, as planned.
